Join Our Awareness Mission

Our Aim

At Dharmaj Parkinson’s Care Trust , our mission is to create awareness, encourage early identification, support patients and families, and build a meaningful support ecosystem for people living with Parkinson’s disease across India.

We believe that timely guidance, accurate diagnosis, scientific data, and compassionate support can significantly improve the quality of life of Parkinson’s patients.

Our long-term vision is to build a trusted and comprehensive platform that connects patients, caregivers, doctors, researchers, and society together with strength, courage, hope, and dignity.

01

Early Awareness & Identification of Symptoms

One of the biggest challenges in Parkinson’s disease is that many people are unable to recognize the early symptoms.

Symptoms such as slowness of movement, stiffness, imbalance, tremors, reduced facial expression, softer voice, sleep disturbances, anxiety, depression, constipation, or changes in handwriting are often ignored or misunderstood.

Our aim is to create widespread awareness among society so that individuals can identify possible early signs at the right time and seek medical guidance without delay.

Through awareness programs, educational seminars, digital campaigns, community outreach, and collaborations with healthcare professionals, we strive to educate people about:
  • Early motor and non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s
  • Young-onset Parkinson’s awareness
  • Importance of timely neurological consultation
  • Lifestyle management and supportive care
  • Reducing fear, stigma, and misunderstanding associated with neurological disorders

We believe that awareness is the first step toward better management and a better quality of life.

02

Identifying Underdiagnosed & Undiagnosed Patients

In India, a large number of people may remain underdiagnosed or completely undiagnosed due to lack of awareness, limited access to specialists, social stigma, or financial limitations.

Many individuals continue suffering silently without understanding the actual cause of their symptoms.

Our mission is to reach such individuals through:

  • Community health awareness initiatives
  • Medical screening camps
  • Rural and semi-urban outreach programs
  • Educational sessions in workplaces and social organizations
  • Collaboration with neurologists and healthcare institutions

By helping people recognize warning signs earlier, we aim to encourage timely medical evaluation and improve access to appropriate care and support.

03

Supporting Misdiagnosed Patients & Connecting Them with the Right Doctors

Parkinson’s disease can sometimes be misunderstood or confused with other neurological or movement-related conditions.

As a result, some patients may receive delayed, incomplete, or incorrect treatment pathways.

Our aim is to help identify patients who may require further neurological evaluation and guide them toward experienced and qualified medical professionals.

We aspire to create a supportive bridge between:
  • Patients and caregivers
  • Neurologists and movement disorder specialists
  • Rehabilitation experts
  • Mental health and supportive care professionals
The Trust also aims to spread awareness regarding:
  • Importance of expert consultation
  • Scientific and evidence-based treatment approaches
  • Medication timing and disease management
  • Rehabilitation, exercise, physiotherapy, speech therapy, and emotional support

We believe that the right guidance at the right time can transform the journey of a Parkinson’s patient.

04

Supporting Underprivileged Patients

Many Parkinson’s patients in India face financial and social challenges in accessing proper treatment, medicines, rehabilitation, and long-term care.

Our aim is to identify and support underprivileged patients who require assistance for:

  • Medical consultation
  • Medicines and treatment support
  • Diagnostic investigations
  • Physiotherapy and rehabilitation
  • Awareness and caregiver guidance
  • Advanced treatment pathways where applicable

Through charitable initiatives, medical collaborations, donor support, and social participation, we aspire to ensure that financial limitations do not prevent deserving patients from receiving proper care and dignity.

We believe compassionate support can bring hope not only to patients, but also to their families and caregivers.

05

Building an Authentic & Scientific Parkinson’s Database for India

India currently lacks a unified and highly structured Parkinson’s patient database based on scientific and authenticated clinical criteria.

This creates challenges in understanding the real prevalence, patient needs, regional distribution, and long-term healthcare requirements.

Our long-term vision is to contribute toward building a meaningful and ethically managed Parkinson’s database in India with guidance from qualified medical professionals and scientific standards.

The purpose of this initiative is to:
  • Understand the actual patient landscape in India
  • Support awareness and healthcare planning
  • Encourage early diagnosis and timely intervention
  • Help identify patients who may benefit from advanced therapies such as Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS)
  • Strengthen support systems for medication, rehabilitation, and long-term care
  • Contribute toward future research, awareness, and policy-level understanding
Through this database initiative, our Trust also aims to identify deserving and underprivileged patients and help connect them with available support systems through:
  • Government healthcare schemes and assistance programs
  • CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives
  • NGOs and charitable organizations
  • Medical institutions and social support networks
  • Donors and community-driven healthcare support

Our vision is not only to collect meaningful data, but to transform that knowledge into real support, timely guidance, treatment access, and hope for Parkinson’s patients and their families across India.

We envision a future where accurate data, medical authenticity, compassionate care, and collective social support work together to improve the lives of Parkinson’s patients throughout the nation.
